Terms of Use

These terms cover rova.live, the Rova API and embeds, and the Rova account you use to sign in to Storytown.

Effective October 11, 2026 · Last updated October 11, 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are an agreement between you and Rova Live Inc. (“Rova”, “we”, “us”), of 5 North Main Street #2, Ashland, Oregon. They cover rova.live, the Rova API, the Rova Website Embed and displays, and the account system that the Storytown app and storytownashland.com sign you in with (together, the “Service”).

Storytown is a separate non-profit organization that uses Rova to power its curated view of Rogue Valley events. Its own website and app have their own terms at storytownashland.com. When you sign in to Storytown, your account is a Rova account and these terms apply to it. Rova runs your account and processes its data.

Part A applies to everyone. Part B applies to hosts. Part C applies to people who RSVP or get tickets.

Part A. Everyone

2. Accounts

You need an account to save events, follow venues and artists, manage events, or submit events. We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email, with Google, with a passkey, or, in the Storytown app, with a password. Some accounts are created for you: if you get a ticket without signing in, paid or free, we create an account for that email address so you can find your tickets later. You can sign in to it with a code sent to that address. Keep access to your email secure; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.

3. Age

You must be at least 13 to have an account or to get tickets.

4. Event information

Listings come from hosts, from our editors, from community submissions, and from public event pages we import automatically (see section 9). We work to keep them accurate, but events change, and we don’t guarantee that a listing is complete or current. Check with the host before you travel or buy.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t:

  • break the law, or use the Service to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
  • submit events you know are false, or content you don’t have the right to share;
  • try to get into accounts, Workspaces or systems that aren’t yours, or probe or disrupt the Service;
  • send automated traffic at a volume that degrades the Service, or get around our rate limits or access controls.

Reading public pages, the public API and the embeds is allowed within those limits.

6. Content you submit

You keep ownership of what you submit, such as event details, photos and descriptions. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, adapt, display and distribute it in order to run and promote the Service, including on Storytown, partner sites, displays, embeds, the public API and social media posts a host asks us to make. The licence for an event lasts as long as it is listed and for a reasonable time after, so that archives and caches can expire. You confirm you have the rights to what you submit, including photos.

7. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

8. Our service

We may change, suspend or stop parts of the Service. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

9. Imported listings

We list events found on public web pages, such as venue calendars and ticketing pages, so people can find them in one place. We link back to the source and to where tickets are sold. If you run one of those events, you can claim it, correct it, stop the import, or ask us to take it down (Part B). If you are responsible for a listing or for content in it and want it removed, email [email protected] and we’ll remove it.

10. Third-party services

Some events sell tickets on other sites, such as Eventbrite or Tock. A ticket bought there is a deal between you, that site and the host; we only link to it.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t put on the events listed and aren’t responsible for how they’re run.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid Rova in the 12 months before the claim, not counting ticket amounts passed on to hosts, and (b) $100.

13. Indemnity

If you are a host, you will cover Rova’s costs, including reasonable legal fees, from claims by others that arise from your content, your events, or how you use attendee information. This section doesn’t apply to people who only attend events.

14. Governing law

Oregon law governs these terms. Disputes go to the state or federal courts for Jackson County, Oregon.

15. Changes

We’ll post changes here and update the date at the top. For a material change, we email account holders, and the change takes effect 14 days after that notice. Small fixes, such as clearer wording or corrected details, take effect when we post them.

16. Contact

Part B. Hosts

Venues, organizers, artists, and their teams.

17. Workspaces

A Workspace is how a host manages its listings on Rova. Rova staff create Workspaces; you can also get one by claiming a venue, organizer or artist profile. Owners and admins can invite teammates, and you are responsible for what your teammates do in your Workspace.

18. Claiming

When you claim a profile, you confirm you’re authorized to act for it. We check claims against evidence such as your email domain or the profile’s public contact email. When the evidence isn’t conclusive, you can edit straight away while we review, but you can’t unpublish, archive or delete events until we confirm. If we reject a claim, we remove the link to the profile and restore events you took down. We can’t undo edits you made in the meantime, and the import may overwrite them later. Claiming a profile you aren’t entitled to is a breach of these terms.

19. What claiming changes

Claiming doesn’t change any listing by itself. Once you confirm (“Looks right”) or edit an event, it’s yours: our import can no longer change, cancel or remove it. Changes from its source come to you as suggestions to accept or decline, and new dates from your own calendar may still be added and marked for you to check. Rova staff can still edit any event, for example to fix an error or remove content that breaks these terms.

20. Import sources

In Settings → Event sources you can pause, resume or remove an import of your own calendar, and stop a shared source from adding your events. Pausing or removing a source never takes down events already listed.

21. “Not mine”

Marking a listing “Not mine” removes it from your Workspace only. It stays listed publicly. To have a listing taken down, email [email protected].

22. What’s free

Listing events, RSVPs and free tickets, check-in, ticket links and the Website Embed cost nothing. If we ever start charging for something you use, we’ll tell you before it applies.

23. Selling tickets through Rova

Selling paid tickets through Rova is available only to hosts we approve (“ticketing partners”). To ask about becoming one, email [email protected]. If you are one:

  • You must complete Stripe Connect onboarding and accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement.
  • Rova takes payments through Stripe and transfers the proceeds to your Stripe account. Today the full ticket price is transferred: Rova charges no fee of its own and covers card processing fees. If that changes, for example to deduct card processing fees (about 3.5%), we’ll tell you before it applies. Attendees aren’t charged a separate service fee.
  • You set your own refund policy and show it to buyers. You issue refunds from your Workspace. A refund is taken back from your Stripe account; any Rova fee on the refunded amount is returned to you.
  • If you cancel a date, you must refund its ticket holders. Rova won’t let you switch a date’s ticketing while it has paid tickets outstanding. If someone pays for a date you cancelled while they were checking out, we refund them in full automatically.
  • You are responsible for chargebacks and disputes on your sales.
  • You are the seller of the event. You are responsible for delivering it, and for any taxes on your sales.
  • We may suspend ticket sales if we believe there is fraud or a breach of these terms.

24. Attendee information

You’ll see the names, emails and any phone numbers of people who RSVP to or get tickets for your events, and you can export them. You may use them to run the event and to market to those attendees. If you export an attendee list, you are responsible for how you use it, including getting people’s consent before you market to them. You must not sell attendee information. Rova doesn’t sell it either.

25. Social posting and AI tools

If you connect social accounts or use the Workspace assistant, we post and process content on your instructions using the providers listed in the Privacy Policy. You’re responsible for what you ask us to post. AI suggestions can be wrong, so check them before you publish.

Part C. Attendees

26. RSVPs

An RSVP reserves a spot. It’s free and you can cancel it. The host sees your name and email.

27. Buying tickets

When you buy a ticket through Rova, Rova takes the payment through Stripe on behalf of the host. The host is responsible for the event, and the host’s refund policy applies. Refunds go back to your original payment method. If the date is cancelled while you’re paying, we refund you in full automatically. When you get a ticket, we also save the event to your account so it shows up in your upcoming events.

28. Tickets elsewhere

If an event sells tickets on another site, that site’s terms apply.
