Liz Hamilton Quay

Liz Hamilton Quay, serving as Assistant Professor of Textile and Materials Studies at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, brings a distinct creative approach rooted in her curiosity for materials and joy for making. Originating from Kutztown University herself, Liz holds both a bachelor’s degree in Art Education and a BFA in Craft, with a focus on Fibers. Her passion for fabric manipulation guided her further to earn an MFA at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, specializing in Fibers and Materials Studies.
Liz's explorations span a range of techniques, from traditional fibers to digital formats like video, allowing her to delve into an exploration of visceral feelings. The fruits of her creativity have found platforms in notable venues and publications. Her work has graced the WestBeth Gallery and the Ceres Gallery in New York, been showcased at Fibre Arts Take Two and Fibre Arts Australia, and been featured in publications like Fiber Art Now and the Surface Design Association. Additionally, her work has made appearances at the Art Association of Harrisburg.
