John Hewitt

Edmonton-based John Hewitt is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and filmmaker. He had planned to release his Alberta debut, "American Hotel," in March 2020, but the pandemic forced a halt to all activities. Undeterred, he remained creatively engaged, focusing on studio work and songwriting. The subsequent years witnessed him penning tracks for the albums "Dead Lovers" and "Hollywood Reality" in 2021 and "Life Blood & Tears" in 2022.
During this time, Hewitt honed his producing skills, working with local Edmonton artists such as Will Ryan on "Way on Down the Mountainside" and Angie Klein's "Made in Alberta". In 2022, he returned to performing live, touring across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Montana, Utah, and Colorado. Some of the highlights of his performances include the Canmore Folk Festival, Wild Oats & Notes, Waynestock, the Whitefish Songwriter Festival in Montana, Black Rose Acoustic Society in Colorado, and numerous local Folk Clubs.
As Hewitt continues to tour, he balances his time on the road with ongoing production work in his Edmonton studio. Currently, he's focused on producing local talent as well as his own upcoming projects, "Life Blood & Tears: Vol. II" and "Broken Rebels," which are slated for release in June 2023.
